Sewer Lateral/Pipe Lining

With new and improved innovative technologies, Jim Dandy has the ability to replace your broken, cracked, or old sewer pipes using a method called pipe lining.

Our technician(s) will come camera your sewer line to make sure that we use the best method possible to ensure that you do not encounter the same problem any time soon. Call 206-966-4548 or to schedule an appointment and ask any questions that you have regarding pipe lining.

Jim Dandy recommends having your sewer lines cleaned on an annual basis – or more – to make sure everything in your sewer system is working properly. If your home is an older home this is especially important because tree roots invade the sewer line, which is often the culprit for expensive future repairs. We can come clean your sewer line, and we can even camera it to see what the main cause of your problem is. An initial diagnosis with a professional camera can end up saving you time and money with a proper determination of the problem. To book an appointment today call 206-966-4548 or .

Cured in Place Pipe, or CIPP

Cured in place pipe, also known as CIPP, is where a pipe is created “within the existing pipe” with special epoxy resins. This creates the structural strength of new pipes without damaging other structures, sidewalks, streets, floors, interior walls, or landscaping. The resin hardens, which is how a “a pipe within a pipe” is created. It is jointless and corrosion resistant. This process involves a minimum of landscape excavation and will simply pull an epoxy saturated pipe liner through your existing pipes.

Trenchless Sewer Replacement

Trenchless sewer replacement costs may vary depending on factors such as soil type, how deep the sewers are buried, and material prices. Even though trenchless options can cost 30-50% more than conventional digging, it is more cost effective in the long run because you are not spending thousands of dollars in additional restorative work. Pipe lining renews pipe life for a minimum of 50 years, so you know that you are getting the best method possible. Pipe lining is an innovative and cost-effective way to fix your pipes without extensive excavation, and it is the ideal solution to quickly resolve your problem.

Pros of Pipe Lining

One of the many positives about pipe lining is that it can be done in a single day. It requires no digging or excavation, so you do not need to arrange to stay somewhere else for a long period of time because all the work is done outside your building or home. Any type of pipe can be relined, and it only takes a few hours.

Pipelining Application Methods: ‘Pull in Place’ and ‘Inversion’

There are two primary types of applications when it comes to pipe lining, and they are the ‘pull in place’ (PIP) method and the ‘inversion’ method. With the pull in place method the epoxy saturated liner is pulled into position where it is cured in place. Millions of linear feet of drain lines have been saved using the PIP method. In order to pull a liner into place, two access points are required. One is to feed the liner in and the other is to pull it into place. This is the one limitation of this process because at time there is only one access point, in which case Jim Dandy would use the inversion process. Advantages of the inversion process are only one access point is required, up to 200 feet of liner can be installed in a matter of seconds, and the epoxy is laid up against the pipe, adhering the liner to the pipe. The process of the inversion method consists of three steps:

  • The lines are evaluated with sewer cameras to determine what is needed to resolve the problem.

  • The lines are cleaned.

  • The liner is pulled into place or shot into the pipe via inversion.

The process is quite simple, which is why it only takes a day to complete. The end result is the creation of a smooth and seamless pipe within a pipe.

Jim Dandy has the advanced knowledge and experience to meet your specific needs regardless of the depth of the pipe or corrosive nature of the environment.

Even if you have lived in your home for years, it is worth hiring a professional to examine your lines. Signs your sewer main is broken

  • A powerful sulfur smell – like rotten eggs – which indicates a buildup of sulfide gas from longstanding and decomposing waste

  • Higher than normal water or sewer bills. This can indicate damaged seals at pipe joints, which causes excess water to spill from the system

  • Excessive water or sewage in one location within the yard or around the home, which may indicate an excessive amount of tree roots that have penetrated the pipes

  • A noticeable backup of sewage in the toilet or basement, or persistent clogging of drains.

If you are experiencing any of these things, call Jim Dandy, and we can come fix your problem as soon as possible or at your best convenience. We will come run a sewer camera through your pipes, and then we will determine the best steps and method to fix it. Our technicians and plumbers realize that emergencies happen, and you know that you are in the best hands with Jim Dandy. We will not try to upsell you on anything.
